Below Target: As of 1 April 2025, Only 12 Million Tax Returns Submitted

JAKARTA – The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) reported that, as of April 1, 2025, it had received 12.34 million Annual Income Tax Returns (SPT) for the 2024 tax year.

This figure remains below the DGT’s target for the year, which is set at 16.21 million SPT, representing 81.92% of taxpayers required to file their annual returns.

Of the total submissions, 12 million were individual tax returns, while 338,200 were corporate tax returns.

In terms of submission methods, 10.56 million SPT were filed via e-filing, 1.33 million through e-form, 629 through e-SPT, and 446,230 were submitted manually at tax offices.

Administrative Sanction Waiver

Although the official deadline for filing the annual tax return (SPT) was March 31, 2025, taxpayers still have the opportunity to submit their returns until April 11, 2025, without incurring administrative sanctions for late submission.

As a result, no Tax Collection Letter (STP) will be issued for filings made within this extended period.

The administrative sanction waiver was granted because the deadline for filing the annual tax return coincided with national holidays and collective leave for Nyepi (Saka New Year 1947) and Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri.

The waiver also applies to late payments of Income Tax Article (ITA) 29 for the 2024 tax year.

This policy on the abolishment of administrative sanctions for late filings and payments is stipulated in the Director General of Taxes Decree No. KEP-79/PJ/2025. (ASP/KEN)
