DGT Gains Access to Financial Data of Merah Putih Village Cooperatives

JAKARTA. The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) is now able to obtain the financial data of Merah Putih Village Cooperatives (Koperasi Desa or Kopdes).

This is stipulated in a cooperation agreement made between the DGT and the Deputy for Institutional and Digital Cooperatives of the Ministry of Cooperatives.

In addition to financial data, through this cooperation agreement, the DGT will also obtain profile data along with the potential of the Merah Putih Village Cooperatives. According to the Director General of Taxes, Bimo Wijayanto, this data can later be analyzed for state revenue.

"This becomes a good database for prudent analysis to secure state revenue and monitor compliance within the cooperative sector," said Bimo, as quoted from the DGT's written statement on Tuesday (12/23).

Number of Merah Putih Village Cooperative Taxpayers

As a reciprocal arrangement of this cooperation agreement, the DGT must provide reports on Annual Income Tax (PPh) Returns and Article 21/26 Monthly Income Tax Returns to the Ministry of Cooperatives.

Based on DGT data as of December 16, 2026, there are 81,436 taxpayers whose names contain the element "Koperasi Desa Merah Putih."

That number comprises 69.55% of Merah Putih Village Cooperatives that have registered as taxpayers voluntarily. Meanwhile, 30.45% of them were registered as taxpayers through field data collection or DGT extensification activities.

The total number of Merah Putih Village Cooperatives registered with the Ministry of Cooperatives stands at 83,016.

Accelerating the Formation of Merah Putih Village Cooperatives
In general, this cooperation agreement between the DGT of the Ministry of Finance and the Deputy for Institutional and Digital Cooperatives of the Ministry of Cooperatives was created to accelerate the formation of Village Cooperatives.

This is despite the fact that, according to Presidential Instruction Number 9 of 2025, the government aimed to establish 80,000 Merah Putih Village Cooperatives this year.

This means that when compared to the recorded number of Merah Putih Village Cooperatives, the figure has already exceeded the target set by the government. (ASP/KEN)
