MUC Featured as Research Resource for SBM ITB on Strengthening Performance Management
JAKARTA. MUC Consulting served as a resource for academic research conducted by the School of Business and Management, Bandung Institute of Technology (SBM ITB).
The study focused on strengthening performance management systems within professional service firms and featured an in-depth interview with MUC Consulting Director, Erry Tri Merryta. The interview was part of an academic review aimed at analyzing performance management practices among consulting firms in Indonesia.
SBM ITB identified MUC Consulting as a relevant case study due to its structured human resource management system. MUC was also recognized for actively linking employee performance to competency development and reward policies.
Research Finding
The results indicate that MUC Consulting’s performance management system is generally aligned with organizational needs. However, the study also noted areas for enhancement to ensure the system becomes increasingly consistent and development-oriented.
The research emphasized the importance of clarity in performance appraisals and maintaining a unified perception among evaluators. Such clarity is seen as playing a vital role in supporting decisions regarding employee development and recognition.

Relevant Insights
By involving MUC Consulting, this research is expected to provide a clear picture of performance management practices in the professional services industry. The findings are also intended to serve as a reference for both the academic community and business practitioners.
In addition to serving as a resource person, Erry was invited to act as an examiner for the research results alongside the course faculty on Friday (12/19).
According to Erry, this research program is highly compelling as it addresses challenges faced not only by MUC but by corporations in general. Consequently, she expressed her appreciation for the SBM ITB students' initiative. “What these students have done is more than just research; they have applied themselves as management consultants,” Erry remarked.
She noted that while the research format was strictly academic, the resulting report functioned like a professional opinion, offering applicable advice. The strategic insights provided can be implemented directly by the company. As an examiner, Erry’s evaluation was based not only on the final results but also on the process, report presentation, delivery, and the quality of the analysis.
