Driven by Ramadan and Eid, Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa Announces February 2026 Tax Revenue Grew 30.4%
Menkeu Purbaya Paparkan Realisasi Penerimaan Pajak 2026

JAKARTA. Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa revealed that tax revenue realization as of February 28, 2026 reached IDR 245.1 trillion.

This figure grew by 30.4% compared to the same period last year (year-on-year/YoY). However, when compared to the tax revenue target set in the 2026 State Budget (APBN), the realization as of February has only reached 10.4%.

Purbaya stated that the growth in tax revenue from January 1 to February 28, 2026, has been strong enough to support the State Budget, particularly on the state revenue side.

Total state revenue as of the end of February reached IDR 358 trillion, growing 12.8% YoY. This consists of tax revenue of IDR 245.1 trillion, customs and excise revenue of IDR 44.9 trillion, and non-tax state revenue (PNBP) of IDR 68 trillion.

Tax Revenue Breakdown

In detail, the collected tax revenue comprises:

  • Corporate Income Tax: IDR 22.7 trillion (up 4.4%)
  • Individual Income Tax and Income Tax Article (ITA) 21: IDR 29 trillion (up 3.4%)
  • Final Income Tax, Income Tax Article (ITA) 22, and Income Tax Article (ITA) 26: IDR 52.2 trillion (up 4.4%)
  • Value Added Tax (VAT) and Sales Tax on Luxury Goods (STLG): IDR 85.9 trillion (up 97.4%)
  • Other taxes: IDR 54.4 trillion (up 24.4%)

Ramadan and Eid Factors

Vice Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara added that the main factor driving tax revenue growth in the first two months of 2026 was increased public consumption.

This was influenced by the momentum of Ramadan fasting and preparations for Eid al-Fitr. This argument is supported by VAT and STLG revenue data, which recorded a very significant increase.

This is because VAT and STLG are types of taxes closely linked to consumption, as they are imposed on transactions of goods and services.

In addition, the performance of Individual Income Tax and Income Tax Article (ITA) 21 also improved in line with rising taxpayer income.
