Indonesia’s Digital Tax Reaches IDR 43.75 Trillion, Roblox Officially Appointed as PMSE VAT Collector
JAKARTA. Indonesia’s state revenue from the digital economy continues to show a positive trend. As of 31 October 2025, the government recorded digital tax revenues amounting to IDR 43.75 trillion. The figure comes primarily from VAT on Electronic Trade (PMSE VAT), crypto taxes, fintech taxes, and taxes collected through the Government Procurement Information System (SIPP).
The largest contributor is still PMSE VAT at IDR 33.88 trillion, followed by crypto tax at IDR 1.76 trillion, fintech tax at IDR 4.19 trillion, and SIPP tax at IDR 3.92 trillion.
Roblox Included in the New Collectors List
The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) also announced new appointments of PMSE VAT collectors. One notable name is Roblox Corporation, the global gaming company popular in Indonesia.
In total, by October 2025, the government has appointed 251 companies as PMSE VAT collectors. In October alone, five new entities were appointed: Notion Labs, Roblox Corporation, Mixpanel, MEGA Privacy Kft, and Socratos Tech FZE. In addition, Amazon Services Europe S.a.r.l. has also begun remitting PMSE VAT.
DGT’s Director of Counseling, Services, and Public Relations, Rosmauli, said this achievement demonstrates the strong contribution of the digital economy to tax revenues. “Realizing IDR 43.75 trillion reaffirms that the digital economy has become one of the key drivers of state revenue,” Rosmauli said, as quoted from the DGT press release yesterday (3/12).
Crypto Tax Stable, Fintech Strengthens
Crypto taxes contributed IDR 1.76 trillion as of October 2025. The largest portion comes from Income Tax Article 22 at IDR 889.52 billion and domestic VAT (PPN DN) at IDR 873.76 billion. This trend indicates that digital asset transactions remain active despite noticeable market fluctuations throughout the year.
Meanwhile, fintech taxes recorded IDR 4.19 trillion in revenue. This tax originates from loan interest received by domestic taxpayers and permanent establishments, including Income Tax Article 23 and monthly remittances.
From the government procurement side, taxes collected through SIPP reached IDR 3.92 trillion, consisting of IDR 268.32 billion from Income Tax Article 22 and IDR 3.65 trillion from VAT.
Rosmauli emphasized that the government will continue optimizing digital taxation going forward. “The government will ensure that taxation in the digital sector becomes increasingly fair, simple, and effective,” she added. (KEN)
