As of August 11, 2025, Tax Revenue Only Reaches 45% of Target

JAKARTA. As of August 11, 2025, Indonesia's tax revenue has only reached IDR 996 trillion, or 45.5% of the target.
In the 2025 State Budget (APBN), the government set a tax revenue target of IDR 2,189.3 trillion.
This was conveyed by a Senior Tax Counselor from the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) for West Java III, as quoted by Kontan.co.id.
However, they did not provide a detailed breakdown of the tax revenue realization. Compared to the same period in 2024, the amount reflects a 16.72% decrease.
Given this situation, the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) is under pressure to boost tax collection over the remaining four months of the year.
Some measures to be taken include optimizing the exploration of tax potential and strengthening supervision.
Yon Arsal, Expert Staff to the Minister of Finance for Tax Compliance, stated that to tap into tax revenue potential, the government will push for the implementation of several regulations that have already been issued. (ASP/KEN)
