JAKARTA. Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa announced that Indonesia's tax revenue reached IDR1,035.7 trillion as of June 30, 2026, representing a 24.6% year-on-year increase.
The amount is equivalent to 43.9% of the 2026 State Budget (APBN) target. For reference, the government has set this year's tax revenue target at IDR2,357.7 trillion.
Purbaya announced the 2026 State Budget Realization press conference, titled APBN KiTa: Performance and Facts, held in Jakarta on Tuesday (July 21).
Supported by the strong tax collection, total state revenue reached IDR1,459.4 trillion by the end of June 2026, up 21.4% compared with the same period last year.
Budget Deficit Remains Under Control
According to Purbaya, the robust revenue performance has enabled the government to keep the state budget deficit at a prudent level of 0.76% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
The budget deficit stood at IDR196.5 trillion during the first half of 2026. Meanwhile, state spending reached IDR1,656 trillion over the same period.
The primary balance posted a surplus of IDR85.1 trillion in the first half of 2026.
Purbaya said these figures indicate that the 2026 State Budget remains in a strong position, maintaining an expansionary fiscal stance while continuing to support economic development.
He added that the government's fiscal performance has also contributed to positive assessments of Indonesia's economy by international credit rating agencies. (ASP/KEN)
