Boosting Forestry Sector Revenue, Minister of Finance Purbaya Collaborates with Ministry of Forestry

JAKARTA. Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa partnered with the Ministry of Forestry to enhance state revenue from the forestry sector.
This initiative is being carried out through the exchange of digital data and strengthened coordination between the two institutions. The cooperation commitment is formalized in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The MoU was signed by Purbaya together with Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni on Tuesday (October 28) at the Ministry of Forestry’s Head Office in Jakarta.
According to Purbaya, as quoted from a Ministry of Forestry press release, Indonesia’s natural resource (SDA) revenue potential is vast, including non-tax state revenue (PNBP).
Purbaya is Still Calculating the Potential
Purbaya estimates that revenue potential from natural resources could reach hundreds of trillions of rupiah. “But this is still being calculated in more detail,” said Purbaya.
Therefore, he emphasized the need for sound and transparent management by all parties involved.
According to data from the Ministry of Finance, by the end of September 2025, non-oil and gas natural resource PNBP realization reached IDR 86.3 trillion, or 74.7% of the 2025 PNBP outlook.
Compared to the trend of non-oil and gas natural resource PNBP over the past three years, this year’s realization shows a decline.
In September 2023, non-oil and gas natural resource PNBP realization was IDR 106.5 trillion, while in September 2024, it dropped to IDR 87.6 trillion. (ASP/KEN)
