DGT Announces Coretax System Upgrade, Claims Faster and More Accurate Tax Services

JAKARTA – The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) continues its efforts to improve the quality and efficiency of the Coretax system to accelerate and simplify tax services in response to the numerous complaints from taxpayers (TP). According to the latest report released on March 18, 2025, a series of improvements have been made, including reduced latency times and enhancements in the administration of tax invoices, withholding tax slips, and tax return (SPT) filing.
Based on the evaluation results, the Coretax system has shown significant speed improvements. Login latency time has been reduced from 4.1 seconds to just 0.012 seconds. The registration process, previously taking 5.8 seconds, now only requires 0.045 seconds, while tax invoice issuance has been shortened from 10 seconds to 1.46 seconds. Additionally, SPT filing, which used to take up to 29.28 seconds, can now be completed in just 3.93 seconds.
Administration of Tax Invoices and Withholding Slips
As of March 16, 2025, DGT’s Coretax system has processed 136.9 million tax invoices for the tax periods of January to March 2025. The improvements made include fixing bugs in the *.xml file upload system, enhancing validation for invoice issuance, and optimizing the electronic signature process. The system has also managed more than 44 million withholding tax slips during the same period.
Regarding SPT filing, DGT recorded that as of mid-March 2025, it has successfully processed 466,638 VAT and Sales Tax on Luxury Goods (STLG) periodic returns and 542,852 Income Tax periodic returns. Previous issues, such as errors in prepopulated data and SPT validation, have now been resolved.
Improved Services
As part of its service enhancement efforts, the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) has provided an XML converter to simplify document uploads, improve electronic document management for taxpayers in certain regions, and accelerate the verification and validation process of tax data. Additionally, a new "Post SPT" feature has been introduced to make it easier for taxpayers to submit their tax returns.
The DGT encourages taxpayers to stay informed about system updates and follow the official guidelines available on https://pajak.go.id/reformdjp/coretax/. “For those encountering issues, it is advised to contact the local tax office or reach out to Kring Pajak at 1500 200,” the DGT stated in its press release on Tuesday (February 18).
With these improvements, the DGT’s Coretax system is expected to deliver faster, more accurate, and efficient tax services for the public. (KEN)
