Momentum for Tax Amnesty Bill Discussion
Moreover, 2024 is the cut-off period of the tax amnesty program that was previously implemented in 2016. Thus, the momentum is considered right if changes are made in 2025.
Previously, the proposal to revise the Tax Amnesty Law emerged in a working meeting between the House of Representatives Legislation Body and the government on Monday (28/11) and was immediately agreed to become Prolegnas 2025.
Academic Paper of Tax Amnesty Bill
As quoted from Bisnis.com, during the meeting, it was known that the revision of the Tax Amnesty Law was proposed by the House Legislation Body.
Then, in the evening, at 19.00, Commission XI of the House of Representatives sent a letter stating its approval for the proposed amendment to the Tax Amnesty Law to be included in Prolegnas 2025.
Since Commission XI will propose it, the academic paper of the Tax Amnesty Law amendment bill will also be drafted by Commission XI of the House of Representatives.
Third Tax Amnesty
Previously, the government had held two tax amnesty programs. The first was in 2016 under the name of the tax amnesty program.
Then, in 2022 the government also held a volume II tax amnesty program called the Voluntary Disclosure Program (PPS).
Thus, if the government reopens the tax amnesty program, then this will be the third in different government periods.
The previous president of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, revealed that the government would not reissue the tax amnesty program.
In fact, as quoted from Bisnis.com, Jokowi reminded President Prabowo Subianto at that time to hold the same policy. (ASP)
