Navigating the Global Minimum Tax Strategies Under PMK 136/2024 through the MUC Bijak Webinar

MUC Consulting is once again holding its tax webinar, MUC Bicara Pajak (Bijak), to discuss Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) No. 136 of 2024 regarding the implementation of the global minimum tax.

Starting January 1, 2025, Indonesia will enforce the Global Anti-Base Erosion (GLoBE) Rules, applying a 15% minimum tax rate on multinational enterprises (MNEs) meeting specific criteria. This regulation, outlined in PMK 136/2024, aligns with the OECD/G20 Inclusive Framework (IF) on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS).

This rule applies to MNE groups with a global gross revenue of at least EUR 750 million in at least two of the last four years. Affected companies must comply with the 15% minimum tax rate, effectively rendering previous tax incentives that allowed for lower effective rates invalid. Additionally, they must submit additional reports, including the GloBE Information Return (SPT Tahunan PPh GloBE), Annual Corporate Income Tax Return for Domestic Minimum Top-up Tax (SPT Tahunan PPh DMTT), and/or Annual Corporate Income Tax Return for Undertaxed Profits Rule (SPT Tahunan PPh UTPR).

Since the global minimum tax is still relatively new, both in Indonesia and internationally, understanding its implications is crucial, particularly for companies directly affected by the regulation.

To provide comprehensive insights into this policy, MUC Consulting is organizing a webinar themed "Key Preparations for Global Minimum Tax Implementation Under PMK 136/2024." The session will bring together stakeholders and tax experts to discuss implementation strategies and potential challenges.

The speakers for the second edition of this year’s MUC BIJAK webinar are Wahyu Nuryanto, Transfer Pricing Partner at MUC Consulting; Mekar Satria Utama, Director of International Taxation at the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT); and Nendi Bahtiar, Head of Pillar Two Tax Advisory Services at MUC Consulting. The discussion will be moderated by Meiliana, Manager of the Transfer Pricing Division at MUC Consulting.
