Tax Revenue Growth in January 2025 Declines by 41.86%

JAKARTA – As of January 31, 2025, tax revenue realization stood at IDR 88.99 trillion, reflecting a 41.86% year-on-year decline compared to the same period in 2024.
According to Kontan.co.id, this amount represents only 5.04% of the target set in the 2025 State Budget (APBN).
The total collected includes Non-Oil & Gas Income Tax (ITA Non-Oil & Gas) amounting to IDR 57.78 trillion, which is equivalent to 6.67% of the 2025 APBN target.
Meanwhile, Oil & Gas Income Tax (ITA Oil & Gas) reached IDR 4.27 trillion, or 6.79% of the target.
Revenue from Value Added Tax (VAT) and Sales Tax on Luxury Goods (STLG) was recorded at IDR 24.62 trillion, which is 2.6% of the target.
Additionally, Land and Building Tax (LBT) realization amounted to IDR 2.22 trillion, or 6.37% of the 2025 APBN target.
2025 State Budget Deficit
In general, state revenue in January 2025 was recorded at IDR 157.3 trillion, a 28.7% decrease compared to state revenue realization in January 2024.
This revenue figure includes tax revenue, customs and excise revenue, and non-tax state revenue (PNBP).
On the expenditure side, as of the end of January 2025, realized government spending amounted to IDR 180.77 trillion. Consequently, the state budget (APBN) as of January 31, 2025, recorded a deficit of IDR 23.45 trillion, or 0.1% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). (ASP/KEN)
