Reshuffle of Tax and Customs Director General Positions: Bimo Wijayanto & Djaka Budi Report to Prabowo

JAKARTA. President Prabowo is reportedly planning to reshuffle two strategic positions within the Ministry of Finance: the Director General of Taxes and the Director General of Customs and Excise.
According to kontan.co.id, President Prabowo Subianto has already summoned the two individuals who are expected to fill these roles: Bimo Wijayanto and Lieutenant General Djaka Budi Utama.
If confirmed, Bimo will replace the current Director General of Taxes, Suryo Utomo, while Djaka will take over the role of Director General of Customs and Excise from Askolani.

Bimo and Djaka were seen at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday, May 20. After his meeting with President Prabowo, Bimo stated that he had been given a number of strategic directives.
Prabowo Pushes for Coretax Reform
Among the directives given was the push to enhance state revenue, including improvements to the Coretax-based taxation system. “We will accelerate the reform of Coretax so that it can provide certainty in services to taxpayers,” said Bimo.
Bimo further explained that during the meeting, President Prabowo emphasized his desire to overhaul Indonesia’s tax system to make it more accountable, more integrity-driven, and independent.
Bimo Wijayanto previously served as Chief Expert in Deputy II of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) and was formerly Deputy Assistant for Strategic Investment at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Kemenko Marves). (ASP/KEN)
