DGT Expands List of VAT Collectors with Amazon and Huawei
JAKARTA. In November 2024, the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) appointed seven digital companies as collectors of Value Added Tax (VAT) on activities conducted through electronic systems (PMSE), including Amazon Japan G.K. and Huawei Service (Hong Kong) Co., Limited.
The other five companies are Vorwerk International & Co. KmG, Sounds True Inc., Siteground Hosting Ltd., Browserstack Inc., and Total Security Limited.
In addition to adding new VAT collectors for PMSE, in November 2024, the DGT also corrected the data for Posit Software, PBC, and revoked the appointment of Global Cloud Infrastructure Limited.
Realization of PMSE VAT Revenue
As of the end of November 2024, a total of 199 digital companies have been appointed as PMSE VAT collectors.
However, only 171 companies had begun collecting PMSE VAT by November 2024.
The total PMSE VAT collected from January to November 2024 reached IDR 7.58 trillion, surpassing the 2023 full-year collection of IDR 6.76 trillion.
For reference, the PMSE VAT collection program has been in place since 2020. From 2020 to November 2024, the total PMSE VAT collected amounts to IDR 24.5 trillion. (ASP/KEN)
