Special for Monthly Compliance Client, MUC Hosts Coretax Socialization

JAKARTA. To provide clients with a better understanding of the Coretax system, MUC Consulting held the Coretax Socialization event on Thursday (February 23) at CGV FX Cinema, Jakarta.

The event was attended by dozens of participants, all of whom are Monthly Compliance Clients. The session was led by Evy Suryani, Manager of Tax Compliance at MUC Consulting, who delivered the presentation on Coretax.

Also in attendance was Sugianto, Managing Partner of MUC Consulting. In his keynote speech, he emphasized the importance of holding the Coretax Socialization event.

A More Efficient Tax System

Tantangan penggunaan coretax sistem

The Coretax system, which has been in effect since January 1, 2025, is set to modernize the fulfillment of tax rights and obligations.

According to Sugianto, the development of the Coretax system has been a long process, starting in 2020 when the Ministry of Finance formed a tax reform team.

"The goal is to create a more efficient and accountable tax administration system, ensuring that state revenue is well-maintained and significantly increased," Sugianto stated.

Adapting to New Features

However, Sugianto acknowledged that the implementation of the Coretax system has not been entirely smooth, as there are several challenges that taxpayers need to consider.

First, taxpayers must adapt to changes in tax administration procedures now conducted through Coretax. Second, it is undeniable that some services within the Coretax system are not yet fully operational.

The Importance of Understanding Coretax Access Management

One of the key changes introduced by the Coretax system is its access management, which differs from the previous tax system.

Under Coretax, individuals and business entities are granted access to the system. However, for business entities, access is not provided directly.

Instead, corporate taxpayers must access Coretax through an individual account registered as the responsible party, typically a member of the board of directors listed in the company’s deed.

As a result, this new access management system raises confidentiality concerns, especially if a corporate taxpayer's account access is entrusted to a specific individual.

Managing Corporate Accounts in Coretax

According to Sugianto, companies have several options for managing their tax accounts. First, the account can be directly managed by the board of directors or assigned to a third party, such as a tax consultant.

However, it is important to note that when an individual is authorized as the responsible party and granted access to the company's tax account, they must ensure that all tax obligations are fulfilled.

This includes handling correspondence with tax authorities, in this case, the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP). Before Coretax, correspondence was done manually, such as sending physical letters or emails.

"With Coretax, correspondence is no longer manual but conducted through notifications sent to the taxpayer's account," Sugianto explained.

Since these notifications require a timely response, missing them can be risky. For instance, the Tax Audit Result Notification Letter (SPHP) has a seven-day deadline. If a taxpayer is unaware of the notification, they may miss the deadline, leading to potential risks.

MUC’s Commitment to Data Confidentiality

Therefore, a third party is often needed to ensure that all notifications and tax obligations are properly managed and responded to.

However, companies must also ensure that the responsible party handling their tax account can maintain the confidentiality of sensitive data.

This is crucial because access to a company’s Coretax account may also grant access to related individual accounts, such as the company owner’s account.

Recognizing this, MUC Consulting reassured clients during the event that all data and information would be handled with the highest level of security. With 26 years of experience, MUC Consulting is supported by a trusted data confidentiality management system.
