MUC Collaborates with Media to to Gain Better Insight on the Global Minimum Tax
JAKARTA. MUC Consulting successfully held a Global Minimum Tax Training for journalists. The event took place on Thursday (27/11) and was attended by journalists from various media outlets.
The training aimed to enhance understanding of the global minimum tax (GMT) provisions, which will come into effect starting in 2025.
It is expected that this initiative will help broaden journalists’ knowledge when reporting or delivering information related to GMT, given the complexity of the rules as outlined in the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 136 of 2024.
The training was delivered by MUC Consulting’s Head of Pillar 2 Tax Advisory Services, Nendi Bahtiar, Transfer Pricing Supervisor Arif Azmi Rianto, and Senior Transfer Pricing Consultant Tasya Nuchla Mustofa.
Also in attendance was MUC Consulting’s Transfer Pricing Partner, Wahyu Nuryanto, who delivered the keynote speech. In his remarks, Wahyu emphasized that the GMT provisions are a ratification of the agreement made by the Indonesian government under the OECD Inclusive Framework.
Therefore, it is essential for the government to adopt these provisions. Otherwise, Indonesia risks losing the opportunity to gain additional tax revenue through the imposition of the Top-Up Tax.
The training specifically covered general concepts of the GMT provisions, the multinational enterprise entities subject to the rules, the determination of the effective tax rate (ETR), and other related provisions. (ASP/KEN)
