6.7 Million Taxpayers Have Filed Tax Returns, File Yours Before the Lebaran Holiday!

JAKARTA. The filing of the 2024 Annual Income Tax Returns (SPT) is ongoing, with the number of filers reaching 6.7 million as of March 6, 2025. Although this marks an increase compared to the same period last year, the figure only accounts for 33.88% of the total 19.7 million taxpayers (WP) required to file.
"This figure consists of 6.5 million individual annual tax returns and 201,000 corporate annual tax returns," said the Director of Extension, Services, and Public Relations of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) Dwi Astuti, on Friday (7/2), as quoted by bisnis.com.
Dwi added that, compared to the previous year, the number of filings by early March has indeed increased. However, she also reminded that the majority of taxpayers have yet to fulfill their obligations. "The submission of the 2024 Annual Income Tax Returns as of March 6, 2025, has increased compared to the same period last year, which reached 6.5 million filings," she added.
Reminder to File Annual Tax Returns
Given that the March 31, 2025, deadline coincides with Eid al-Fitr 1446 H, the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) urges taxpayers not to delay filing their Annual Tax Returns (SPT). Several tax office services will be closed on certain dates leading up to the deadline.
“Tax offices will be closed on March 28–29 for collective leave and the Nyepi Holy Day, and will close again on March 31 and April 1 for Eid al-Fitr collective leave,” explained Dwi.
However, Dwi emphasized that taxpayers can still file their SPT online via djponline.pajak.go.id without visiting a tax office. Taxpayers who forget their password can use the ‘Forgot Password’ feature, while those who forget their Electronic Filing Identification Number (EFIN) can request it via email without having to go to a tax office.
To avoid last-minute issues, DGT strongly encourages taxpayers to file early. “File now at djponline.pajak.go.id and enjoy a smoother journey home for the holidays,” wrote the official @ditjenpajakri account in a post on Saturday (8/2). (KEN)
